Congratulations to our Mobile Computing students who took 1st place at Hackville at the end of January .

Burhan Faquiri, Nevada Graci, Amir A. and Michael Wright teamed up to develop a web application called ‘ASL Rocket to Space’ targeted at youth learning sign language.

Inspired to reduce the communication gap for hearing impaired individuals, the web app was created to teach the basics of ASL through a fun and interactive platform.

The group not only walked away with a 1st place finish, they gained the practical experience of generating an idea and creating a prototype with a working application that will be hosted online for anyone to explore.

Through communication, collaboration and organizational skills, teammates worked together, developed their skills in Python, Django, HTML/CSS/JavaScript and Adobe XD and had great success with their first place finish.
