On December 9, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology (MEET) hosted its annual student capstone showcase event. Third-year technology students from Sheridan’s engineering programs showcased their capstone design projects to a crowd that included Carol Altilia, Sheridan’s Provost and Vice President, Academic, as well as community members, sponsors and several key industry partners.

Students in both the mechanical and electrical programs displayed their projects in the Centre of Advanced Manufacturing Design and Technology (CAMDT) and were judged on their projects by panel members from different industry sectors.

“I am impressed by the innovative and creative solutions our students developed for the challenges they take on and the impact their work can have in the engineering world during their journey in capstone project course,” says Andy Alubaidy, robotics professor and program coordinator in the Faculty of Applied Science and Technology (FAST).

“Congratulations to all engineering students on their outstanding accomplishment,” says Amjed Majeed, Associate Dean, FAST. “We are proud and inspired by their accomplishments. When you have a chance to attend these capstone projects you would certainly know how much work and effort goes into these projects. Students work throughout their last semester developing their topics, doing research, designing prototypes towards building functional and innovative projects while applying the learning gained since they entered the program.”
