Every year a new group of students enters the final year of their honours program and have to choose between a year-end capstone project or an honours thesis. The honours thesis is the traditional beacon of a completed honours program and represents months and months of comprehensive and exhaustive research work.  Students are required, upon completion, to defend their thesis in front of a committee of internal subject matter experts.  It is during this defense that the student is able to truly impress the committee with their subject-matter knowledge and  showcase their expertise in their chosen area of study.
